Thank you for subscribing to Five Song Friday, but we are off today in observance of the holiday weekend.

All offices, kiosks and drive-thru locations are closed so that our employees may spend time with family and friends during this long Memorial Day weekend.

We will pause on Monday to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in defense of the United States of America, and we will be sad.

We will also acknowledge that they’re all probably looking down on us, furious and disappointed that their ultimate sacrifice has been squandered by a greedy, pucker-faced, saggy orange ass-clown who is dismantling democracy and selling it for parts.

That will make us even sadder.

But we will avoid falling headlong into the pit of despair because amidst the chaos of current affairs, there are wonderful, personal things worth celebrating.

So we will celebrate those things with cornhole, cupcakes, and cold beers for the grown folks.

We will abandon our Bluesky app for actual blue skies and stop chugging from the newsfeed firehouse to sip and savor the moment like civilized people.

At some point it would be cool to check out the new Mission Impossible movie.

Or take a nap on the lawn.

Maybe eat pancakes.

Anything could happen.
